Leading Women to Embrace God's Promise of Abundant Life When Trouble and Hardship Endure

~~~~~~~~
Jenny Hander passionately inspires women to take God at His Word. Having endured the loss of one of her infant twin daughters in 2005, Jenny understands firsthand the challenge women face believing God's promises of goodness when life isn't good.
With
a compassionate heart and contagious spirit, Jenny leads audiences into a deeper relationship with Christ by exposing the truth of God's Word in light of hard times. Jenny is the author of A Place of Peace and founder of Crossing Your Jordan Ministries. She resides in Central Texas with her husband where she homeschools their three daughters and teaches a weekly Bible study class for women.
And now meet the real me . . .
Jenny Writes
Constantly! Though I once considered myself more of a math and science person God has placed in me an undeniable passion for communicating His Truth. My goal in writing is to inspire women to take God at His Word. I love to blog but must confess that because God has blessed me with an abundance of words (which is a nice way of saying I'm long-winded), I find it challenging to adhere to the character limits on Facebook and Twitter updates.
Jenny Teaches
Passionately! Growing up I always "played" school. At one point I had in my bedroom a chalk-board, a student desk and a worn-out teacher's manual for junior-high math my grandmother gave me after she retired from teaching. With daily "schooling" my dolls were the smartest toys on the street!
In college my love for problem-solving led me to pursue a degree in chemical engineering rather than a degree in education. However, as I have since realized, God plants desires in young hearts for a reason. I still love to solve problems, but I find my greatest joy in teaching God's Word to women as old as two and as young as one hundred and two.
Jenny Reads
Devotedly! I arise early each morning to read the Word of God. An hour in God's Word does my heart, mind and soul more good than an extra hour of sleep. In my "spare" time I enjoy reading the latest Christian non-fiction. I've included a few of my favorites below.
Jenny Loves
Abundantly! I love my family!! Though I am a stay-at-home (homeschooling) mom I'm not exactly the stay-at-home type. To keep from driving myselfand my childrencrazy, the kids and I often visit story time at the library or the ducks, fish and playgrounds at the park. We've been known to go to the mall simply to ride the merry-go-round. We go out for snow-cones during the summer and cups of hot chocolate during the winter. On occasion we visit our local home improvement store just to ride their race-car baskets up and down the aisles (yes, sometimes I'm that desperate).
I love h
omeschooling! Wow, I never thought I would say that!! I did not plan to homeschool our children but my husband's gentle nudging toward the idea led us to surrender our plans and seek God's will for the education of our little ones. I began teaching our oldest in Pre-K 4. Now I have one in first grade, one in kindergarten and one who simply plays along. I love raising our children with the perspective that their education is simply the means by which they will accomplish whatever purpose and calling God has placed on their lives. We use a Bible-based curriculum which teaches nearly all subjects from the Bible. Our lessons take around three hours each day which leaves plenty of time for living life together as a family.
I love to clean but not cook, though with three little ones and a husband I'm forced to tinker in the kitchen three to five times a day.
I have extravagant plans for landscaping, however, it seems my thumbsalong with most of my plantsare anything but green.
When I'm at a restaurant I have no trouble passing on dessert but will consume an entire bowl of chips and salsa if such an offering is placed in front of me.
I take a little bit of coffee with my cream, prefer Dr. Pepper over any other carbonated beverage, will choose dark chocolate over milk chocolate, and in addition to crosses of all shapes and kinds, I collect dust-bunnies under my bed and behind my couch.
